1885. Date forever known in the annals of automotive history.On this day German engineer Karl Benz received a patent No. 37435 for his creation — the world's first car with a gasoline engine.However, in recent years the priority of Germans is challenged by the Austrians, but to this collision we shall return hardly later. And while we will try to answer age-old questions: that moves history — a case law or a principle? What is more important — personality or circumstance? After 1876, when Nicolas Augustin Otto has patented the engine of internal combustion, a lot of smart people worked on it made an improvement. And, maybe, born in small village near Karlsruhe Charles Benz would remain one of the host of nameless mechanics and engineers of that time which names now known only to archivists. But the case took a different turn. In 1871 tawsi work in bridge-building firm in Mannheim Charles has become engaged to ener-tech girl Bertha Ringent. The motto of the young family were the words:"Faith, hope, and struggle". And now many historians are quite seriesmobile that Burt led the auto industry in a big way.
